Alberto Araújo

Alberto Araújo (Portugal, 1996) joined a mixed choir at the age of 6, and started his musical studies at the age of 10 at the Conservatório de Guimarães, in piano and choral singing. In 2016 he finished the Bachelor in Choir Conducting and Music Education at Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa. In 2015 he studied at the Kodály Institute of the Liszt Academy of Music, in Kesckamét, Hungary, under the Erasmus programme. He is currently studying at the same institution, now finishing the Diploma in Advanced Choral Conducting with Péter Erdei.
As a choral singer he has worked with Coro Sacro de Lisboa, Coro Ricercare and Új Liszt Ferenc Kamarakórus, as well as several academic choirs and ensembles in Guimarães, Braga, Lisbon and Kecskemét. As a soloist he performed two children’s operas by Britten (Noah’s Ark as “Cam” and The Little Sweep as “Johnny”) and recently as “Jephte” in Carissimi’s worke.
He had the opportunity to work with many different conductors (Paulo Lourenço, Vasco Azevedo, Pedro Teixeira, Zoltán Pad, László Norbert Nemes, Arpád Tóth, Cemi’i Can Deliorman, Werner Pfaff, among others) with different conducting styles and philosophies which made him so interested of choral rehearsing and performance dynamics.
Alberto was recently accepted on the Music Teaching masters program at Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa.
