George Carling
George Carling (Sweden, 1995) is a countertenor. He started singing in Gothenburg’s Boy’s Choir at the age of 7, and has since sung in many different ensembles and choirs, with a wide variety of repertoire, ranging from the Swedish male choir tradition to one per part renaissance polyphony and the great baroque oratorios of Händel and Bach.
He is currently pursuing a bachelor in Early Music Singing at the Royal Conservatoire of the Hague, where he studies with Rita Dams and Carolien Drewes. Both an avid soloist and ensemble singer, his main focus and interest lies in the performance of early music, be it English lute song, Italian madrigals or the great baroque oratorios.
