Sílvia Gonçalves
Born in 1993, in Santo Tirso, Portugal, Sílvia Gonçalves started her formal music studies in 2008, playing saxophone in Luis Ribeiro’s class in Valentim Moreira de Sá Music Academy, in Guimarães. She now studies for her saxophone degree at Minho University. Meanwhile, she started her singing studies in 2011 with Janete Ruiz and sang in several chamber and symphonic choirs, mostly barroque and classical repertoire. Sílvia presented herself in several solo recitals and sang in the casts of Britten’s “Noe’s fludd” and “The little sweep” and Ravel’s “L’enfant et les Sortilèges” (in the framework of European Capital of Culture – Guimarães 2012).
